first i start with a piccy. i choose a pic to draw from coz i cant draw from memory. (if i can then im too good lol)
i chose this pic to draw from.
so actually i just used to draw straight from it but now im tryin to make it easier for myself and to increase my accuracy by doing a few things. oh and im goin for realism in my drawings so i gotta be accurate with shadows, lines, proportion, blah blah
so now what i do is:
1. change the pic to grayscale. well if its black n white its too vague and drawing a colour piccy in pencil is hard. the shadows r harder to shade in, some things seem darker, u know, lots of shitty mistakes pop up.
2. make the object fit into the frame. well as u can see theres lots of background and i dun want that. so i put it in photoshop, grayscale it, cut it down.
so now it looks like this
so when i open it up with windows picture and fax viewer(bcoz its faster and my com is slow) and zoom in, i can draw it easily.
